#MAL is a thematic exhibition that is a reminder of the fight between Juan Canales and Johann Channels. It is composed by the three polyptychs product of the litigation: the substantial one of the heteronyms, the variable one of  apocrypha and the small mosaic of the littledrawingsonthecouch.

All the pieces are part of the project started in 2012, an exercise of joy and resilience, where painting has been an affirmation of freedom and envy one of its engines.

Johann Channels is a heteronym, an invented literary identity, with a fascinating biography and a peculiar style. Actually, others gave him that name and it was not because of The Fame.  The artist has no personality, his taste is questionable and he is influenced by the neighborhood that witnessed his birth.

Juan Canales enjoys the relationships between image and word: metaphors that are not explicit at all, perhaps without apparent meaning. The young man practices occasional note-taking about the daily and dreamt matters that are turned into paintings: (re)presentation polyhedral and bastard  of objects and signs.

Both live on the fringe. They long for nature, its convulsive beauty and the beauty they find.  Their eyes are bigger than their mouths. They feed more with the eyes than with the mouth and what they see is what they want. They do not know that they are characters built of zeal and bewilderment.

As you see, they are the perfect dilettantes.

#MAL es una exposición temática, memoria de la pelea entre #JuanCanales y #JohannChannels, compuesta por los tres polípticos producto del litigio: el sustancial de los #heterónimos, el variable de los #apócrifos y el pequeño mosaico de los #dibujitosdesofá.
Todas las piezas forman parte del proyecto iniciado en 2012, un ejercicio de #gozo y #resiliencia, donde el pintar ha sido afirmación de libertad y la envidia uno de sus motores.

#JohannChannels es un #heterónimo, identidad literaria inventada, con biografía apasionante y estilo peculiar. En realidad otros le dieron ese nombre y no fue por La Fama. El artista no tiene personalidad, su gusto es dudoso y está condicionado por el barrio que lo vio nacer. .

#JuanCanales disfruta de las relaciones entre la imagen y la palabra, las metáforas nada explícitas, quizá sin sentido aparente. El joven practica la toma de apuntes ocasionales sobre lo #cotidiano y #ensoñado que convierte en pintura: (re)presentación poliédrica y bastarda de objetos y signos.

#Ambos viven en la periferia. Añoran la naturaleza y su belleza convulsa, encontrada. Se alimentan más con los ojos que con la boca y lo que ven es lo que quieren. No saben que son personajes construidos de ardor y desconcierto.
Ya ven, son los perfectos #diletantes. .
